Would these dogs work together?
My cousin who is a total agility freak, wants to create like "The ultimate agility dog." She has two border collies, who have already had a litter of puppies, she kept a male puppie who is now an adult. She wants to bred together that border collie with a female american eskimo she is bringing home tomorrow would this be a good mix?
EXTRA: Please, dont say anything about shelters, both my dogs are adopted and her two border collies were to.
A cross between an American Eskimo & a BC for Agility to me sounds like a stupid idea. Why would you think adding Eskie into a BC would "improve" it for Agility?? If it's to get a smaller sized BC like somebody said above, that may or may not work. Crosses aren't predictable at all. And there are plenty BCs small enough to run 16" in a lot of venues. I know I own one of them! And if the Eskie b*tch is that much smaller, she may have trouble whelping these pups. After you pick your pup or 2 from this litter, do you have homes lined up for the other puppies? Or are you just going to let the owner of the b*tch worry about that?
Personally.....I found my current "ultimate Agility dog" in rescue. And that's where I plan on finding my next "ultimate Agility dog".....purebred rescue!
