I have had to move recently. I have 2 outdoor cats. I now live in a condo and have to keep them inside. It's?
been a week and the howling and no sleep continue. I am doing all the work of new cat tree, treats, toys, playing with them when I get home from work. Has anyone out there gone through this? I really don't want to give them up for adoption. That would kill me but, I do need sleep. I feel like they are dying inside because they are used to chasing butterflies, roaming the neighborhood and just rolling around in the grass. If all else fails does anyone know where I could take them so that they would be placed in a good home where they could be outside?
That's a hard adjustment for your cats. Since it's only been a week, I would give it some more time to see if they adjust. Only time will tell.
If you must give them up, post a sign at your local pet store. The sign should contain a photo of each cat, a description of their personality as well as their needs (outdoor playtime is a necessity). When the people call, set up a time to meet so you can interview them. Put the cat in a carrier and go to their home so you can check things out.
Have you considered using a cat harness and a leash so you can walk them? Just a thought.
