can i use these in my rats cage ?
i bought 4 dog/cat fleece blankets for my rats. they have 3 in their cage, 2 at the bottom and 1 at the top. are they ok to use. i will clean the top one out every 4 days, and the bottom 1 every 2 days. is that ok
they usually just crap where the bottom of their ladder is. but i have to wash the bottom piece more often, as their food falls onto it
Fleece is the best fabric to use as floor covering. It doesn't fray like other fabrics and get all stringy, it absorbs moisture, and it is comfy on rats' feet. It's also machine washable with no problems. Rats also don't tend to eat fabric of any type, so that's not really something you need to worry about.
I'd also suggest you try litter training your rats so they do most of their poop and pee in one place. It will be easier for you to clean and you will probably not have to wash the fleece as frequently.
