Traveling with dog on Jetblue?
We'll be traveling in about 10 days for the first time with our little 5 mo. old mini dachshund puppy on Jetblue (Boston-Seattle, nonstop). We got her the medium size Sherpa, which is slightly over the dimensions suggested on Jetblue's site (since she's so long! The rep I spoke with on the phone said she didn't think this would be a problem (she said has pets she travels with on Jetblue and never really checked the carrier dimensions closely).
Does anyone have experience with Jetblue and pets? Are they really strict about measuring the dimensions (and weighing?) Since she's still a puppy, even with the bag weight she'll still only be about 15-16 pounds, but is still growing! Jetblue in general seems like it has a pretty laidback ethos, so I'm not as worried I would be if I was flying American or something...
No, JetBlue is not strict. Just mention that you are carrying the pet onboard when you check in. Since you are taking the pet, it will say that in the system next to your name. So you will not be able to use a Kiosk to check in.
We don't measure the sherpa carrier. We can look at the case and let you know right away if it will fit under the seat in front of you or not.
Just make sure you preboard the flight so you have ample amount of time to stick your pet under the seat.
