As already stated, both foods aren't really the greatest foods for your cat...they're kinda like a human who eats junk food everyday. Try picking up a vet-recommended food designed for weight loss.
My first suggestion would be to pick up a specially designed "light" recipe food, but if need to pick between the two you stated, the wet would probably contain less fat than the meow mix.
