How can i get rid of fleas in the house using traditional methods?
i found out that my cat has fleas. So i i went to vet and got advantage for him. So its done. But im sure i still have them in the house and i have carpet all over. I got PurrScriptions spray for cat and im wondering if i should use it for the carpet or furniture. But it has so many preconditions: such as if it gets in contact with your skin - you have to wash it for 20 min or dont get in contact with clothes, etc, so how bad is that stuff. So i ecided to hold off for now. Anyone knows what i can use to spray around to get rid of fleas - like baking soda or something else?
If you vacuum every day for 2 weeks you should be able to get rid of all the fleas. Even vacuum your couch, etc. Wash all the blankets in the house as well, including your comforter. Its not the adult fleas that are the problem now, because they will seek out your cat, hop on, and die. Its the eggs and pupae stage, that can persist in the carpet, etc for up to a year. Vacuuming is time-consuming but a very effective way to get rid of the eggs (which aren't sticky so when they are laid on your pet they fall off) and the pupae (where the fleas mature from larvae to the adult).
Good luck!
