How Can you puppy proof a balcony?
Our balcony has bars. We are getting a maltese x shitzhu soon and I am a bit worried about the dogs safety on the balcony. Does anyone have any suggestions about ways I can protect the dog from getting hurt or anything we could put up to make sure the dog doesnt slip through
My little Shih Tzu jumped through the bars of my back porch and it scared me to death, although the porch is only 4 ft from the ground. I went to Home Depot and bought wooden lattice, 4'x8' pieces and sawed them into 2'x8' pieces. Painted it the same color as the bars of my porch and attached it to the porce side of the bars using electrical tags. It looks really nice but, more important, no more worries about the pup jumping off. Lattice is cheap and does not have any sharp edges like metal fencing, which could hurt the pup.
