I want to own a tiger as a pet......?

I know that you think im crazy but i really want to own a tiger as a pet. Im not sure if it is legal in Canada but i will find that out.

Im only 12 years old now but when i move out i will move to a place with lots of acres close to the forest.

I will build a large enclosure that it will be comfotable in. It will have a shelter, trees and plants.

I will probably feed it some kind of meat, maybe beef or chicken. I will order it from a factory.

I will buy it as a baby and keep it in my house but when it gets older it will go in the enclosure.

Im going to be a vet when i get older so i can treat it myself. I will probably get it declawed and spayed or neutered.

I will buy it from a breeder ( if there is one) or maybe from someone that sells big cats.

What do you think. Should i get a pet tiger when i move out. Would you own a tiger.

Might I direct you to Siegfried and Roy? No matter how much you know, and how well you do, something bad is eventually going to happen even if it's simply a mistake:

Tigers are not pets, and no matter how well you think you're doing for them (building an enclosure, feeding a proper diet, so on and so forth) they can not be kept as such- If you really want to work with them then aim to get a zoology degree in college and you may be lucky enough landing a job working with them.

* Laws will not allow you to own a tiger as a pet.
* Things are going to change by the time you're old enough to do this- who knows what will be happening in the world more than 6 years down the roads (and there's no way you could do this at 18 even)
* Lots of acres, no other people for miles, high security fencing.... lot of work and even more money.
* You would need to study a specific tiger's diet and feed balanced meals that would fit with what a tiger in the wild actually does. Not to mention that without hunting a wild animal is almost guaranteed to bored as well.
* Where are you going to legally buy a baby tiger? How do you plan to afford it?
* You would need specific wildlife vet training- working with a wild tiger is not the same as working with a house cat.
* Tigers can not be declawed, effects of fixing a wild animal may be different than fixing a domesticated one.
* Wayyyyy too many issues.
