Guinea pig might have ticks ?
So i was checking my guinea pig as I do daily (eyes, nose, mouth and underneath) when I saw somthing brown in her fur. I pulled it out, and a small amount of fur came off too but she didnt mind it. Can anyone send a link to a picture of a tick that is on a guinea pig? I doubt it was one, it was brown and about twice the size of a "."
Also how do guinea pigs get ticks? mine is indoors and has never been outdoors without her carrier. She hasnt had grass from outdoors for a while either so she hasnt had any contact with the outdoors. I have no other pets so it cannot come from them. She is my only guinea pig and my only pet. So how do guinea pigs get ticks?
It's very unlikely that your guinea pig has had a tick if it's never been outdoors. Ticks are usually pretty difficult to get off your pet too, and it would probably be moving. You'd most likely know if it was. Here's the wikipedia article on ticks: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tick , though more than likely, all you pulled off your pet was a scab (which is nothing to worry about either, if it was as small as you say).
Theoretically, guinea pigs could get ticks from wandering around in tall grass, where ticks like to hide and jump onto unsuspecting animals.
