fleece quilt batting?

A store is selling fleece blankets for only 10 dollars. I was thinking of buying a few to use as batting when I make a quilt. I usually buy batting (thin) or use a double layer of flannel as I don't like the quilt too "puffy".
Sometimes I tie them off and sometimes I hand quilt. What do you think about using the fleece for batting?

I have used fleece blankets for batting and backing both, I like it both ways, when used for a backing, without a batting, it makes a nice light weight quilt, but it is still very warm and soft to cuddle up in
