any way i can stop my cat from scratching my wallpaper?
I have tried everything, she has scratcing posts activity gym and lots of toys but still insists on scratching my wallpaper. Everywhere i go there are flakes of it on the floor have tried to contain her to just being downstairs now as she started upstairs too. Any ideas pls?
Right Emily S - i was going to ignore you but for your information and 'peace of mind' I spend a lot of time with my cat, not only me but my daughter too, she sleeps in our bedroom FFS! she lays on the sofa with me of an evening and cuddles up with my daughter when she is sleeping. So dont be so bloody critical when you aint got a clue how much time i spend with fifi
my cat was also doing this and my vet gave me this advice....it works...but it is also a training process...
take a small cotton ball and dip it into Vicks VapoRub. rub the Vick VapoRub onto the general area that the cat is destorying. The smell will keep the cat away.
yes...you will smell it also...but in a couple of days you will notice it less...but the cat still smells it. You will need to pay attention to the cat...i in a month or two it starts again...repeat.
My cat used to do the same as yours and he also used to chew the corners of cupboards....this worked! and i do not have to use the VapoRub any longer...because it was a training process and he has now stopped.
My sisters' cat claws at the front door (obsessive /compulsive?)...so we are using this training method on him and hit is working as well. It works better for her cause she cannot smell the VapoRub (hahahaha).
good luck ---and please do not spray or hit your kitty....they are just doing what comes natural...we just need to train them to be in our environment.
