Two Grade School Math Problems?

1. There are 4 soccer teams in the school league: red, blue, green, and orange. How many different combinations of teams can play against each other?

2. Each student needs to complete 2 events in the gymnastics tournamet. They include the horse, beam, bars, and trampoline. How many different choices does each student have?
Oh no, I had "6"!

Red vs. Blue
Red vs. Green
Red vs. Orange
Blue vs. Green
Blue vs. Orange
Green vs. Orange
(Isn't then saying Blue vs. Red, Green vs. Red, etc. redundant / already covered?)

Also,
Horse and Beam
Horse and Bars
Horse and Trampoline
Beam and Bars
Beam and Trampoline
Bars and Trampoline

6 and 6

reb-blue, red-green, red-orange (3)
blue-green, blue-orange (2)
green-orange (1)

h-be, h-ba, h-t (3)
be-ba, be-t (2)
ba-t (1)

some people think it's 12 because they consider "blue-red" to be different than "red-blue." actually blue vs red is the same as red vs blue. same goes for the events of the gymnastics tournament.
