Do schizophrenic voices in peoples heads have different accents, genders and personlities?

I was wondering if the voices are the extension of the person's mind or if they actually sound like different people? Just interested, don't mean to sound insensitive.

I guess that is possible since there's a guy called Gottesman who researched schizophrenics who were deaf before they learnt any language and the voices were speaking perfectly.
