Where can cat owners keep cat litter wastes for a week?

I live in a coach home, not a stand-alone, single-family house or large apartment complex, so I don't have a dumpster or trash area. Garbage pick-up happens only once a week in my neighborhood, probably like most neighborhoods. That means that I cannot dispose of cat wastes right away. I clean litter boxes 2-3 times a day and use a black pet-waste bag each time; I use my patio deck for storing those bags for the week. The problem is, of course, that patio smells bad and attracts houseflies.

What do cat owners who face similar situations do? Please remember that I don't have a dumpster or a trash area. The trashcan is kept inside my covered garage. (If the patio smells, then keeping the cat wastes inside the garage will simply stink it up even worse.)

Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my otherwise silly question.

You can flush the solid waste down the toilet. If you have clumping litter, remove the clumps as often as needed and put them in a big zip lock bag (use the one or two gallon storage bag size). Put the bag or bags in a storage container with a lid (like a rubbermaid container) until trash day.
