Which is more important, arresting the culprit or the life of an innocent human being?
In one of the most violent scenes of the SAW film, Detectives Tapp (Danny Glover) and Sing (Ken Leung) close in on the Jigsaw Killer at his hideout. A male victim is tied up and chained with a collar that restrains him and two drills on both sides aiming for his head. The killer presses a button for the drills to close in. Sing tries desperately to search the keychain for the key to unlock the collar and save the frantic man from being killed by the drills while Tapp holds a rifle at the killer. The Jigsaw killer says: "Which is more important officer, arresting me or the life of a human being? I'm sick of the disease eating away at me inside. Sick of the people who don't appreciate their blessings. Sick of those who scoff at the suffering of others. I'm sick of it all!". Sing shoots the drills and they wear out, meanwhile the Killer whirls and slashes Tapp's throat with a blade shot from his sleave. Sing chases the killer, but is killed by one of his traps. Tapp survives.
The innocent human. The culprit can be captured later but the victim can only be saved once.
