How do I get Oreo to sleep in her bed?
So I made this really cute quilt to go over my bed (it took me over 40 hours) and Oreo always sleeps on my bed every night, and I don't want it to get cat hairy and gross. She has a cat bed, but she never uses it. Whenever she comes in my room i put her on the bed and encourage her to lay on it, but she'll just walk off. If she does lay down she'll stay there for like ten seconds then step off and lay down next to the bed. I don't have catnip to sprinkle on it or anything, so what can I do to get her to sleep on it?
I try to encourage her to stay off my bed, but...
1. she gets on when I'm asleep and i wake up with her either on my new quilt or on my face
2. she hops on and gets in this SOSOOSOOSOSOSOOOOOO adorable position and gives me a look that says "oh i love you" and i can't interrupt it cuz the cuteness hypnotizes me!
Well... GET some catnip! They also sell the catnip scent in a spray can, too, which can help. There are also cat "attractants" and sprays available that contain a certain "pheromone" that makes the cats "like" each other or other people or DOGS, or "places to be." Well, it's not like magic, but it's sort of like "kitty cologne" that cats react positively to. You can find these in a good pet supply store, or online. Use as directed, and it may just help them "over the hump" in getting her used to her own bed.
Me... kittyslave23... I know my place.
