How do I make my cat stop urinating in my house?
My male cat is about 1 1/2 years old and was neutered a year ago. Lately, he as been urinating in my clothes baskets and on my clothes if they're on the floor, and in the hall closet in the corner. How do I make him stop. His litter is clean and he is on mostly dry food.
Sometimes a cat will refuse to use his litter box if he has a urinary infection. It is painful when he urinates and he associates that pain with his litter box, so he will go elsewhere.
I know it sounds odd, but it is true.
There may be some other reason for his behavior, but you might want to consider taking to see a vet, just in case.
