wht does it mean when ur pet dog/cat brings you a dead bird in its mouth?
it almost seems to me as if they're giving it to me as a gift.the last three pets i have owned within the last couple years have done the exact same thing and it just seems kinda weird to me i guess. my neighbors cat did the same thing as well..
What it means is, because you allowed your pet to roam around and kill a bird, there is one less bird in the breeding population. I know, I know - who cares about one bird, right? Well, the population of many common species has declined by 50-80% in the past 4 decades, and many birds are disappearing. Every time a pet owner allows their pet to kill another bird, it does not just remove that bird from the population, in effect it removes that bird and every baby that bird may have had in its lifetime, and every bird every one of those babies would have had in their lifetimes, down through the generations. That's a lot of birds that will never sing, all because you think it's nice that your pet can bring you gifts of dead birds.
