Is there any way to make a green laser pointer at 50 mw stronger?
I have about a 50mw green laser pointer, its strong, but i want to see if i can concentrate the beam enough to make it a burning laser. Any suggestions?
The problem is that even if you concentrated 50 mw into a pinpoint and held it steady on say paper, it is likely that the paper would conduct the small amount of heat away before its temp got high enough to char and flame. You can try with a very good lens, well cleaned, in a fixed mount that is adjustable with respect to a mounted laser and the paper. And there are heat losses in the lens.
Burning with a laser tends to begin at about 3 watts as I recall.
